Our dusty hike to the coast was through an old town that once thrived and is now ghostly only to be occupied by a few people, several dogs, and abandoned graffitied buildings. However, despite the pollution, the ocean was stunning. After getting to play in the water, climb on the rocks and take in the view, Pastor Phillip shared a morning devotion, followed by a quiet time.
We piled back into our three 15-passenger vans and toured the district where we will be building two homes. The poverty is heartbreaking and severe. We have merely scratched the service of understanding this community’s life. The coming days will be challenging, eye-opening and life changing.
Soon after, we ventured off to downtown Ensenada where we spent the day being tourists. We bargained, bought and ate.
So far, the weather has been flawless: 70 degrees, warm sun, breezy. Be jealous, Florida. Be very, very jealous.
Everyone is getting along, maintaining positive attitudes and health [thank you, Jesus!]. Please continue to pray for us. Pray for the families that we met tonight. It is our prayer that through our service and love, Jesus would be illuminated. Please make it your prayer too.

Brushing our teeth, avoiding the revenge.
