Day 7

Our Mexico adventure came to a memorable close yesterday. After spending the day in a touristy district called La Bufadora, we trekked up a mountain to have a bon fire under a cross.

Now we're eating breakfast. The vans are packed and we're just about ready to go cross the border.

Thank you Journey Church, friends and sponsors for making this incredible missions trip possible. We're coming home and cannot wait to see you!

Day 6

We gave away two homes today. Two homes. Friends, I wish our entire church could have been there the moment the keys were placed into their hands. Tear, smiles, laughter, shock, hugs, joy, appreciation were all tied together by Jesus. I don't want to write much more as I am afraid I might ruin the sentimentality of this experience we shared. Praise be to God!

Day 5

The houses are almost complete! On both houses, all of the dry wall and roofing is finished. Final touches on electrical are still in the works and just painting the interior walls is all we have left! It's an exciting thought that soon these once piles of wood and nails that have been turned into a house will be a families home. We can't wait to hand those keys over.

Yesterday (Wednesday) is expected to be the hardest day physically, spirtually, and emotional. It is the day where Satan seem to begin to attack. However, dear ones, due to your prayers, this was our best day yet. Everyone's spirits were so high, everyone was working their hardest and encouraging each other. Prayer is an incredibly powerful thing. Thank you.

Tonight we went to church. Journey Church, we have to liven up some because we had a party at Pastor Joel's! Please enjoy these energetic photo's!

Day 4

Though we hit a few road blocks along the way, both houses have made great progress. Journey Church, you should be so proud of this team. And while we know building homes is important, and we're all happy to contribute, to get our hands dirty and blistered for it, it was playing the children today that stuck out.

We had the works: a beauty salon, soccer games, toys, lots and lots of capuches, candy, games...Friends, I wish you could have been there. Christ was in those children's smiles. Being a photographer, having the ability to stand back and be a spectator, I was overwhelmed with the love of Christ Jesus as I watched my church family love on these poor, filthy children. Despite their condition, hugs were given, kisses were planted and feet were washed. Again, the love of Christ was visually displayed before me while I watched children covered in dirt and muck be washed cleaned and then spoiled rotten.

As much as i hope you enjoy the following photo's, they do not and cannot give this experience near the justice it deserves.
